Artist Greenhouse Studio

This sunroom renovation was thoughtfully redesigned to be an artist greenhouse studio for a group of retired herbalists aging in place, blending comfort, functionality, and a deep connection to nature.

The large room was designed for accessibility, with smooth transitions and an open layout that allows for easy movement. With ample natural light streaming through large windows, the space provides a bright, welcoming environment that doubles as a cozy sitting area and a functional office nook for the group’s plant business.

Dedicated areas for co-working, ample plant potting and sound experimentation invite a subtle sense of play into the space to affirm the group’s practices of incorporating sound healing with gardening and herbalism. ADA compliance was of the highest priority for this project, with selections made with aging-in-place ergonomics in mind.

Whether working, tending to their plants, or simply enjoying the surrounding sounds and environment, this sunroom offers a peaceful area for planting, co-working and well-being.
